Deb Fitzgerald is an Associate Professor of Economics at Blue Ridge Community College (BRCC) who brought her classroom experience, planning and development background, and knowledge of city government to the Harrisonburg City School Board in 2016.

Her talent for organization and eye for details helps keep work on track, organized, and focused toward results. She has served as a dual-enrollment instructor for high school and college students, designed a college-level course around Virginia's state requirements for personal finance, and has experience designing and delivering courses for face-to-face, hybrid, and distance learning environments.

As the Harrisonburg City school system continues to grow and plans continue for new facilities, this background will be helpful to keep our schools on target to meeting the needs of our young people.
